A new start-up logistics business and subsidiary of PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk looking for an experienced Business Development Manager - Project Logistics. Reporting to GM/Directors and working closely with Commercial Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving business development on project logistics opportunities in Indonesia and manage variety of external parties.
 
Responsibilities :
 
  • Develop a project logistics sales plan to support company target overall sales and marketing strategy.
  • Identify and develop new and existing mid to large scale projects, by using your existing network, and by penetrating companies from a top down approach.
  • Identify and penetrate profitable new markets previously not identified by company current business.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial customer engagement phase to the post-closing stage for all projects.
  • Price up a project’s value and present to management for approval. Identify and express the risks involved, and the resources required.
  • Maintain good relations with vendors, and work closely with other department such as procurement and operation team to ensure the best prices and payment terms are obtained during costing.
  • Ensure bidding documents are collected, compiled and submitted timely.
  • Ensure customer requirements are well understood and effectively implemented.
  • Proactively ensure all contractual requirements are well understood and executed effectively.
  • Deliver agreed revenue, profit and share objectives targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Provide regular reports, data, and research and market intelligence to the Country Manager/GM/Directors.
  • Identify and secure logistics opportunities within potential market group of companies.
  • Work closely with other internal departments and stakeholders through regular meetings, to ensure client/ contractual needs and expectations are achieved.
 
Requirement
  • At least 5 years of applicable business development and sales experience in project logistics.
  • MInimum Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or related field from any reputable and accredited university
  • Proven sales and project management track record Project logistics, Oil and Gas, Mining, Power sector, Infrastructure and energy related experience is preferable.
  • Understanding of project cargo mobilization, heavy lifts cargo, OOG, supply base project, as well as project management.
  • Ability to understand clients’ project logistical challenges and structure effective solutions.
  • An industry background from Industrial, Oil and Gas, and other Energy sectors.
  • Familiar with Indonesian Project market potential and mapping.
  • Excellent analysis and synthesis capabilities and ability to write comprehensive and complex notes in English.
  • Must be fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Proficiency with Ms. Word, Ms. Project (or similar), Ms. Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Must be willing to travel as and when required
  • Location is in Jakarta

Today, PSS is headquartered in Jakarta and has two branch offices in Samarinda and Banjarmasin. PSS provides customized and integrated services for the bulk commodity supply chain. In 2009, within two years of its incorporation, PSS was awarded the “Best Tug & Barge” operator by INSA and received the “Re-flagging Award” by INSA in the same year. Today PSS operates the best floating transshipment facility (FLF) which is capable of achieving a loading rate of 40,000 tonnes per day. It is the most reliable tug and barge operator in Kalimantan with tugs and barges of standardized design and specifications, enabling flexible and efficient deployment. PSS also operates some of the most productive Floating Cranes designed to produce an output of 20,000 tonnes per day.
