The Operations Manager role is a unique opportunity to be part of an industry defining journey and to lead the development and deployment of outstanding Operations experiences for our clients.
Job Description:
Build a highly effective operations team
Train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees in operations team
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
Keep track of staffing requirements and hire new talent as needed to correspond with specific duties and skill sets
Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
Prepare and complete action plans
Implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards
Manage shipments that have been booked by Ezyhaul’s customers from pick-up to final delivery
Actively liaise with customers and transport companies in relation to active shipments; resolve problems with clients or carriers
Troubleshoot shipments that encounter issues (truck breakdown, rejections, delays, etc.) and actively support mitigation between Ezyhaul’s customers and transportation vendors
Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
Ensure all shipment related costs are accurate and updated in the system
Follow-up on POD returns with transport vendors
Manage the performance of transport vendors and ensure that they follow the customer’s SOP’s and safety procedures
Ensure that the drivers make correct and timely updates for each shipment using the driver application
Support in signing up carriers on Ezyhaul’s platform
Manage carrier performance, especially in case of repeated non-compliance
Coordinate and support training sessions for Ezyhaul’s clients
Coordinate and support training sessions for Ezyhaul’s transport vendors
Provide support to carry out any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements:
We are a startup so you need to have a passion for creating activities from ground up and have a willingness to “work in the trenches” with our carrier and shipper partners.
Candidate preferably possess a degree in logistics or engineering
At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas is a must:
Logistics or freight forwarding environment
Land transport (trucking).
Container haulage
Good understanding of trucking operations with industry leading SLAs and improving operations performance
Proven ability to effectively work together with external transport vendors and partners
Understanding the delicate relationship working with customers and sub-contractors, from negotiation till completion of transport delivery tasks.
Ability to demonstrate a proven record of success in managing fluctuating volumes in a highly pressurized environment.
