Job Description:

As a Trade Advisor, you will act as a subject matter expert to provide strategic consultation to clients regarding customs and other trade related matters. You will also play a key role in establishing and implementing best practices for customs brokerage on a national level.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain existing client relationships by delivering excellent quality service. Act as a focal point of contact by answering their trade related inquiries and providing resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Conduct audits, assess risk, and analyze information/documents provided by the clients.
  • Act on behalf of clients before the Customs Authorities.
  • Identify opportunities for the next requests and other STTAS teams.
  • Partner with other STTAS teams on region-oriented enquiries.
  • Conducting webinars. Responsible for process management and other duties as required for the clients and STTAS management.
Requirements:
 
  • Diploma/Degree/Master’s Degree in a related field, with a minimum of 4 – 5 years of relevant customs experience.
  • Customs Broker License preferred. Those with customs/international trade/regulatory affairs/brokerage experience will also be considered.
  • Solid knowledge of APAC Trade Compliance related activities including country of origin, duty optimization/regimes, cross border documentation, etc.
  • Committed individual with a positive attitude, strong initiative and professional mannerisms. Able to work independently and resourceful; with the ability to tap into existing networks and expand.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively build relationships with people across all levels. A strong command of English is preferred. Additional languages such as Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa Melayu and/or Thai would be a plus - to liaise with clients and counterparts in their native language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
