Sealand – A Maersk Company is the dedicated Intra–Asia (IAS) arm for the A.P. Moller – Maersk (APMM) Group delivering containerized cargo through an extensive network spanning Bangladesh to East Russia. As an independent business unit that is part of the APMM Group we carry our own IAS cargo and feeder significant volumes for Maersk Line and other Main Line Operators (MLOs) with whom we have cultivated long-term partnerships.

Based in Semarang and reporting to Core Sales Manager for Sealand – A Maersk Company Indonesia, the position is for external sales. Responsibility is to drive business for export and import by growing a solid pipeline of attractive business, developing client strategies, client management and managing internal and external stakeholders. You will be working closely with your peers across function and business units, both in Indonesia and within the wider organization.

• Develop sales skill of using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to drive sales pipeline.
• Develop skills to balance short-term tactical considerations and long-term strategic planning
• Further develop negotiation and stakeholder management skills – both with customers and internal stakeholders
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Deliver Profit and volume budget for targeted segment; outport and reefer
• Understand the market (products/customers/trends/competitors) and network actively with key players in the market (institutes, customers, federations in order to generate awareness, business opportunities and feedback that relevant to grow the business
• Work closely with internal organisation to align on development strategy relevant for customers and align on development strategy
• Build sustainable sales pipeline management
• Generate, evaluate, and execute on sales and business leads
• Identify, develop, and strengthen niche markets, ports, and customers
• Actively pursue new opportunities and constantly evaluate existing businesses
 
Customer Relations
• Retain, build, and strengthen relationship with existing customers
• Identify, actively pursue, and develop new customers
• Build a strong and stable customer base
• Develop strong, long-term, and mutually beneficial partnership with our customer
 
We are looking for
 
The incumbent must have at least 2 years of sales and marketing related working experience in shipping & logistics industry. you must have a performance and result driven mind-set. You must be independent and resourceful with strong business acumen. You are able to spot opportunities where not apparent and to critically and objectively evaluate the attractiveness of a particular business. You must be persuasive, extroverted, and a good communicator who is able to engage others and to get results through direct and indirect influence.
 
The incumbent must have integrity, be resilient, have a strong sense of ownership, and able to thrive in a fluid and high-pressure working environment. Experience in the Intra-Asia trade is a significant advantage. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, with the ability to converse in English.
